Dreaming Rat Pendant

This sterling silver pendant has a patina that adds depth and contrast while the raised areas are polished. This patina will develop naturally over time with wear and exposure to air. If the raised areas become dark, the tarnish can be removed by lightly polishing with a jewelry polishing cloth that contains a mild polishing compound.

The golden cheese should not be polished, as this may remove the gold finish. As the gold layer is thin and exposed to wear, it may wear away with long term use. If this happens, it can be (re)plated by a professional.

Monocrystalline conservation wax has been applied to protect the initial finish, but will naturally wear off with use and can be reapplied if desired. It dulls the finish slightly but reduces the need to polish. For long term storage, use an airtight bag.

For regular cleaning, use only warm water with soap or dishwashing detergent. Do not use chemical cleaners, as they can damage the finish.
